               Joshua Chapter 3.

Promised Land Battle Victory Preparation

The Word Leads to Resurrection

Crossing the Jordan was a greater experience of the power of God than the fall of Jericho. Walls can fall down but water doesn't "stand up in a heap". The children of Israel had to follow the Ark. [Joshua 3:3-4.] The Lord cannot provide resurrection Life contrary to his Word. Jesus said...   the words that I speak are words of Spirit and words of Life. [John 6:63.] "The Word of God is quick and  powerful" [Hebrews 4:12.] Psalms 119:97 (KJV)
O how love I thy law! it is my meditation all the day.

"Sanctify Yourselves" [Joshua 3:5.]

Peter said.. 1 Peter 3:15 (KJV) 15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear: Why did Joshua say to "sanctify yourselves"? The reason: In the next phrase he said that the Lord would "do wonders" among them. Sanctify and set apart Jesus as God and Lord in our hearts and then we will experience the wonderful things The Lord has for us!

"The Lord will do Wonders"

Some times we can be more in a state of "wondering" than experiencing the "wonders" of the Lord. Matthew 21:15 (KJV)..the chief priests and scribes saw the wonderful things that he did. Only The Lord can do wonders for us (as Dave Hunt would say) pitiful creatures, and if we lack the heart realisation and thankfulness  to ascribe total Lordship to Jesus over ALL the ground we stand on and over ALL the things we have got our hands on, then we will lack the full wonderfulness of his great blessings in "The Promised Land".

The Lord will Magnify Joshua

Jesus is our "Joshua" and just as Joshua was magnified so Christ is exalted...  Philippians 2:9 (KJV) Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: Jesus means "Jehovah Saved" and while ever we are "looking unto Jesus" we will come through whatever we need to come through, saved by the mighty power of Jehovah and thus Christ will be magnified in us and we in Him. Such was Pauls prayer. [2 Thessalonians 1:12.]

"Stand Still"
We can can miss much of the Lord's working if we do not learn to "stand still" as the priests were told to in Jordan (3:8.) There can be no movement on our part in resurrection Life it is all the movement of The Lord! If the Priests carrying the ark were not still there could be no clear resurrection path through the mighty waters; resurrection doesn't follow us; resurrection life is Christ and Him working.   Psalms 46:10 (KJV) 10 Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.

"Without Fail" [3:10.]

In what do we want to succeed?  Health can Fail, business can fail, money can fail, but all of this FAILS at the grave anyway! What is left then that can succeed? All that is in the promised land would not Fail because the promised Land contained the Blessing of God.  The Lord is rich unto all that call upon Him [Romans 10:12.]  In Jesus Christ we have fruit that shall remain (John 15:16.)  Great Eternal rewards as we heed  Joshua's words to "follow The Lord of All the Earth" [3:11.] With Jesus our Joshua all the promises are "Yea and Amen".

Resurrection Overthrows the Overflow

The children of Israel came up against a mighty overflow but they went over on dry ground (3:17.) which means that every hinderance was moved out of the way in their forward experience of Resurrection power...   Psalms 114:2-3 (KJV) 2 Judah was his sanctuary, and Israel his dominion. 3 The sea saw it, and fled: Jordan was driven back. In every circumstance as we look to Jesus every opposition against us is "driven back" and we go forward as Israel did in His victory and Praise.

The Lord Bless.

Jesus is Reaching for You.

God Bless.
