1 John 5:9-12 (KJV)
9 "If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for
this is the witness of God which he hath testified of his Son.
10 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself:
he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth
not the record that God gave of his Son.
11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and
this life is in his Son.
12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of
God hath not life."
The whole human race abides in the realm of death.
1 Corinthians 15:22.
"As in Adam all die so in Christ shall all be made alive."
The whole person is under the sentence of death because of sin. Spirit,
soul and eventually the body gives way to death.
But
Ecclesiastes 3:1 (KJV)
11 "He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also, he has put eternity into man's heart ........."
In the beginning of creation, God gave to Adam and Eve and all mankind supremacy and dominion over the "fish of the sea and the fowl of the air and over all the Earth".
Genesis 1:26 (KJV)
"And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth."
The natural world of everything man enjoys, lives on and he dies! His dominion and command over all is a failed supremacy!
Job 14:7-10 (KJV)
7 "For there is hope of a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout again,
and that the tender branch thereof will not cease.
8 Though the root thereof wax old in the earth, and the stock thereof
die in the ground;
9 Yet through the scent of water it will bud, and bring forth boughs like
a plant.
10 But man dieth, and wasteth away: yea, man giveth up the ghost, and
where is he?"
Adam and Eve hid from God because of their reckless choice to run
with the evil assessment of God by Satan! Thus they suffered death to their spirit, soul and body!
Now remains the great need, for mankind to be spiritually raised from the dead, with soul revived abundant life, possessing the joy of a living hope and wonderful assurance of victory over the grave, with a pending new body of glorious power!
How is Jesus the way for such a great outcome?
The Word of God (the Bible) declares prophetically and emphatically
from it's beginning to it's end, and now historically in the birth and
death of Christ, the following wonderful declaration .....
Hebrews 2:9.
... "But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for
the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the
grace of God should taste death for every man".
How wonderful that "every man", means you and all!
Not only has Jesus taken the blow of our death, but also he has
risen again with victory over the grave for all who believe on him!
1 Corinthians 15:3-4 (KJV)
"Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; was buried, and
rose again the third day according to the scriptures:"
Thus is the reality on Page 6, that God has given the gift of Eternal Life
and this Life is in his son.
Question: From page 6, what do you have if you have Jesus Christ?
............................................................................................................
If God has recorded such a promise, is such a witness greater than
anything man may declare to the contrary? ...........................................
.............................................................
What sort of life don't you have if you don't have Jesus Christ?

How do we have Eternal Life through Jesus?
John 17:2-3.
[The following verses are part of the prayer of Jesus to his Father.]
2 "As thou hast given him (Jesus) power over all flesh, that he should
give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him.
3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true
God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent."
Question: Who has power to give Eternal Life? ........................................
Question: From verse 2. Who is it, that causes us to come to Jesus for the gift of eternal life? .............................................................
Question: Who are the ones Jesus gives Eternal Life to? .....................
......................................................................................................................
Question: What is eternal life as described in verse 3?..........................
............................................................................................................................
These 2 verses contain the most concise definition of Eternal Life in
the whole Bible. God is eternal and we are told that he "inhabits
eternity" [Isaiah 57:15.] So, God the Father sent his son, so that sinners
through Jesus might come to know the Father, be born again of the
Spirit, and become children of God! Sinners cannot come directly to
God. We all need to come by the one who is the only "mediator
between God and men, the man Christ Jesus" [1 Timothy 2:5.] who
"suffered the just for the unjust that he might bring us to God"
[1 Peter 3:18.] Jesus also himself again makes this truth clear
in the following Scripture.
John 14:6. (KJV)
6 "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man
cometh unto the Father, but by me".
John 10:28 (KJV)
28 "And I (Jesus) give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish,
neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand".
Question: In your own words explain why it is so important to come to
Jesus as a sinner in need of a saviour to be able to "know God".
........................................................................................................................
....................................................................................................................
Acts 16:31 (KJV)
31 "And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be
saved and thy house".
Nothing to do, just simply believe!
Yep! When you believe on Jesus as your saviour, you are in effect
saying to God ..."Amen! Yes I am a sinner, with sinfulness that makes
me unfit for heaven, and I know that my own good works, can't cover my
debt of sin, but I believe that what Jesus has done for me on the cross,
does!"
Question: Read Ephesians 2:8-9. By just believing, we are
saved and have Eternal Life on the grounds of? ...........................................
.......................and not by? .............................................................
John 6:68.
"Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? you have
the words of eternal life".
Question: Why did Peter say, that Jesus was the only one for all men
to come to?.......................... .............................................

Question: Are you ready to come to Jesus and be blessed with all
the unspeakable benefits in knowing him as your loving Saviour,
Lord and friend? If so, then follow the little prayer encouragement
below and invite Jesus into your life today and rest in him for the
salvation of your soul, the blesing of the Lord upon your daily life now and into the eternal future!
The following is a simple 'believing' prayer that you can pray in this
wonderful step of believing upon the Lord Jesus Christ for Salvation
and the gift of Eternal Life.
.................
>> My glad decision for Christ! <<
Don't hesitate to Pray .... "Lord Jesus I understand there is no one else that has paid for my sin and taken my death to give me Eternal Life and I now come to you to receive you as my Saviour, Lord and Friend and thank you for such Love."
I ................................... Knowing that I am a sinner and that Jesus has
loved me and died for my sin to deliver my spirit, soul and body from eternal death, have today with a glad heart received him as my Saviour. Signed:...................................... Date:......................................
|
A big 'wow' and congratulations if you have prayed that prayer from
your heart! You have now entered into the great blessing of ...................
.......................A new Life in Christ!
The most wonderful result of accepting Christ as our Saviour is,
that upon the very instant of that step, we are born again as
children of God!
Galatians 3:26
"For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus."
How wonderful is that! In the following verses from the Word of God,
consider the great truths of what happens to us when we simply believe
on Jesus as our Saviour.
John 1:12-13.
12 "But as many as received him, (Jesus) to them gave he power to
become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the
will of man, but of God."
Question: From whom does this new birth come from when you have
"faith in Christ" ..................................................................................................
Romans 8:15-17
15 "For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye
have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the
children of God:
17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ;
if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together".
Question: What sort of new birth do we experience when we trust in Jesus?
.........................................................................................................................
Question: Who do we become heirs of, when we trust in Jesus and are
"Born again of God"? ..........................................................................
Question: In John 3:3 & 5 what do we not "see" or "enter" if we
are not "born again" of God's Holy Spirit and become "children of God"?
.......................................................................................................
Question: Read 1 Corinthians 3:21-23. What does the Christian
have when we come to Christ? ................................................
Question: Read Romans 8:32 and in your own words - How
much has God given us and on what basis? ...........................................
.......................................................................................................
+++++ Assurance of salvation and Eternal Life. +++++
Don't doubt that you are a child of God because you don't 'feel' like
you are. Even though we belong to the Lord, we can often not 'feel' close
to him. There can be many reasons for that. We need to confess our
sins when we go wrong, so that fellowship with the Lord can be restored.
God loves you and Jesus has said "I will never leave you or forsake
you" [Hebrews 13:5-6] and the verse goes on to encourage us that
"we can boldly say, the Lord is my helper, I will not fear ...."
Question: Read Ephesians 1:13-14.] What does the Bible
say happens to us that makes us undoubtedly the Lord's? .........................
...................................................................
1 John 5:13.
"These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may
believe on the name of the Son of God."
Matthew 4:10.
"Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written,
Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve."
Question: What are we to know beyond any doubt and by what authority? .........................................................................................................
Follow on to know the Lord more and be thrilled with the greatness of
Christ as you grow in grace and knowledge of him through his
Word. [2 Peter 3:18.] You may find much assurance of the love
of God in going back over the wonderful promises contained in the
pages of this study of the Word of God on the gift of "Eternal Life".
"When you call on him" - Beautiful Gospel song sung by Carroll Roberson - Written by Stan Roberson, Carroll's brother. The Lord bless such a team of his glory for the blessing of many.
God Bless. Grant Hayman.
Romans 8:35 (KJV)
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
