Home Christ our Example?

 "For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also hath suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps" [1 Peter 2:21.]

This encouragement of Peter...

                                   an encouragement to...

 but an encouragement concerning His calling for us to, "Follow His steps" in the matter of suffering, as we read in the previous verses, of which verse 19 says;

  "For this is thankworthy, if a man for conscience toward God endure grief, suffering wrongly." Religion commends suffering as a means of spiritual blessing and even dares to suggest such, as a means of salvation!

We have Christ's example of suffering wrongfully, and The Word of God is clear that  "They that walk godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution" [2 Timothy 3:12.] and Peter also takes up the same theme again in the fourth chapter of the same letter and says,  "Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, ARM YOURSELVES LIKEWISE WITH THE SAME MIND..." [1 Peter 4:1.]

This word from Peter is   an instruction to take, the

as an example for us to  live,

but an example of how to  after the "steps" that Jesus took in suffering, and (again as Peter said in 4:1.) "arm yourselves likewise with the same mind."

The reality about "Living our life after the example and pattern of Jesus" is a Million dream times beyond any possibility in a million eternities! The only life that is up to the task is The Life of Christ Himself, and because He lives in us, then and only then, by His power is fulfilled the reality that,  "The steps of a good man are ordered by The Lord" [Psalm 27:33.]

Dear Christian, live no longer, the burdened life of trying to follow the "example" of how He lived, AND LET HIM SHOW YOU HOW IT IS DONE, BY HIM LIVING IN AND THROUGH YOU TO HIS GLORY, AS David prayed,  "Be Thou exalted, Lord, in thine own strength, SO SHALL WE SING AND PRAISE THY POWER" [Psalm 21:13.]

Jesus is more capable of Living His Life, than you are, in your efforts to try and copy it!

The Lord bless you more and more in finding this full rest in Him. [Matthew 11:28-30.]

Jesus Loves you.

God Bless.
