Promise for You

The Following presented here was originally produced

in the form of a Gospel Tract.

How is Jesus Reaching for You?

                          He has already reached you!

God commends his love to you in that, while you are now living at this present time in the history of the Human race, Christ has already died for your sins!      "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us". [Romans 5:8.]

The story is told of a man in prison who received a "Gideons" Bible and boasted to the other inmates that he now had good paper to use for the purpose of rolling his cigarettes , and so he proceeded with real enjoyment to rip the pages out of the Gideons new testament, smoking his way through the four Gospels - Matthew, Mark, Luke and John and then Acts and reached the next book called "Romans" and came to the text already mentioned and as he was rolling the tobacco in the page his eyes fell upon    the verse in the face of his careless mockery and was smitten in his heart with the wonderful words, "But God commends  his love toward us.." Suddenly the Glorious Light of the Gospel of "Amazing Grace" cleared the skepticism in his mind: Understanding dawned! That Christ still died for him and the whole human race even though God knew the world of men would be entrenched in sin and error till the end of time! What a revelation of God's mercy and grace was staring at him from the Bible page he just tore out!

He Smoked The Bible but his heart caught fire!

This Bible burning unbeliever's heart was won by such love , and he became a whole hearted  Ambassador for Christ.

The Picture on the front of this little message conveys a few very Precious truths that reach our hearts with great Goodness .

 * 1. We are like sheep that go astray. How real is the fact that our lives are criss crossed with tracks that have headed in the wrong direction, with much misery that has been collected along the way; wrong choices that have caused many tears and regrets. How much as humans we suffer because of our foolishness! and how sore and sorry are  the results of our hard actions and loveless directions that we take.

No one can deny that we all, as the (Bible says)    "... like sheep have gone astray, we have turned everyone to his own way and the Lord (God) has laid on Him (Jesus) the iniquity of us all" [Isaiah 53:6.]

* 2. Jesus said;   "I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd gives his life for the sheep." [John 10:11.]

We are not good enough for Heaven, for   "All have sinned and come short of the glory of God" [Romans 3:23.] And "The wages of sin is death but the gift of God is Eternal Life through Jesus Christ our Lord" [Romans 6:23.]

This wonderful good Shepherd took the wages of our sin which is death and gave his life, as the lively Oracle  says,  "...that He (Jesus) by the Grace of God should taste Death for EVERY man" [Hebrews 2:9.]

Because Jesus came from Glory and is The Lord of Life, He was able for you and me to conquer the grave , and in rising again, has secured for all who come to Him Victory over the grave and the gift of ETERNAL LIFE! His victorious encounter with death was a "taste" to deliver us from full blown ETERNAL DEATH .

*3.It is obvious in the picture that, the Shepherd is not going to give up on this precious lost and fearful sheep, and it doesn't matter how far you may be out on the edge of wrong, sin and disaster, Jesus loves you and died for you and He is YOUR GOOD Shepherd and is there for you!

In the Shepherd chapter Jesus says that He is the Door,  "I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. I am come that they might have Life and that they might have it more abundantly. [John 10:9-10.]

Yes! dear reader, as a young lady said recently, "I know The Lord is after me" . Jesus in His Great love, leaves the 99 and goes after the one that is lost! Jesus is the only door to this abundant Life and "green pastures" now, and in Eternity.

Be sure: There is no one else that has paid the price of our sin and opened the door of Heaven to let us in.

Jesus made this reality wonderfully clear in his words and promise to Thomas,   "I am the Way The Truth and The Life, no man cometh unto the Father but by me" [John 14:6.]

Peter said to Jesus on one occasion   "Lord to whom shall we go, you have the words of eternal Life" [John 6:68.]

Come to Jesus today, His promise is to you,   "Him that comes to me I will in NO WISE CAST OUT" [John 6:37.]

"The Blood of Jesus Christ cleanses from ALL sin" [1John 1:7.]

Jesus Loves You.

God Bless . ~ Grant.
