These Fisherman were amazed.
¶ "What manner of man is this?" was the question a group of men asked themselves after seeing Jesus calming the storm that had threatened to sink their boat and send them to a watery grave. They continued to say with amazement "even the wind and the sea obey Him" Matthew 8:27. Some little time later these same men found themselves in a similar situation and were afraid for their lives. Again Jesus brought Peace to the turbulent sea and we read in Matthew 14:33 that they came and worshiped Him saying "truly you are the Son of God."
Jesus Received their Worship.
¶ Jesus did not object to their worship of Him, but rather received it. Unlike other great men of the Bible who refused such worship like Peter in Acts 10: 25&26 who when a Roman man called Cornelius fell down at his feet and worshiped him, immediately told him to stand up saying that he himself was just an ordinary man. Or like the angel in Revelation 19:10 when John the apostle fell at his feet to worship him said, "You must not do that. I am your fellow servant who holds the testimony of Jesus; Worship God."
God manifest in the flesh!
¶ Why then did Jesus receive the worship of these men? Because this man Jesus is not just a very good man or even a great prophet. This man is the Son of God, or as the Bible puts it another way, "God manifest in the flesh" - God became man. It is for this reason that He and He alone can be the Saviour of the world and the only one that can forgive your sins. First, because He is God and the perfect man. Second, because He paid the ultimate price for your sins on the cross of Calvary. He died and rose again from the dead and is alive for evermore to be your Saviour and friend.
Who can Forgive Sins?
¶ Some religious men who could not understand this got very angry when they heard Jesus say one day to a man "my son, your sins are forgiven" and they said "why does this man speak blasphemies? Who can forgive sins but God only?" (see Mark 2:1-12). On another occasion we read in John 10:33 that these men were going to kill Jesus because they thought that he "being a man was making himself God". Sadly, Jesus had to say to these men, "If you believe not that I am, you shall die in your sins" John 8:24. They were right when they said that only God can forgive sins, but they did not know "what manner of man" Jesus was. They did not understand the wonder and miracle of love that God had made himself a man to walk among them as a shining light, and himself taking the just punishment for their sins when He died on the cross. As the Bible says in 2 Corinthians 5:19 "God was in Christ reconciling the world unto Himself." We read also in Colossians 1:15-17, about Jesus, "who is the image of the invisible God ... All things were created by Him and for Him. He is before all things and by Him all things consist"
Vanquished Death and the Grave!
¶ Even one of His own disciples, Thomas, could not believe that Jesus had conquered death and the grave and was alive again, and said to his friends "except I shall see in His hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into His side, I will not believe". Jesus had heard his words and a few days later came and stood in the room where they were and said to Thomas, "reach forth your finger and behold my hands, and reach forth your hand and thrust it into my side; and be not faithless but believing."
"My Lord and My God."
¶ You can Imagine how Thomas felt at that moment. In awe and wonder at the sight of Jesus and hearing these words pierce his heart, he could only reply "my Lord and my God." Jesus then said to him "Thomas, because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed" John 20:24-29.
"Peace Be Still."
¶ Dear reader, do you know this man who is your Creator and so much wants to be your Saviour? Do you not want to hear Jesus say to the storms in your life "peace be still?" Do you not want to hear Him say to you "my son/my daughter, your sins are forgiven?" Then accept His free invitation, when He says "come to me all who labour and are heavy laden and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28) Just come to Jesus now believing His promise in John 6:37 when he said "he that comes to me I will in no way cast out". "Believe on The Lord Jesus Christ and you shall be saved." Acts 16:31

Hymn. ~ Love Lifted Me.
I was sinking deep in sin, far from the peaceful shore, Very deeply stained within, sinking to rise no more, But the Master of the sea, heard my despairing cry, From the waters lifted me, now safe am I.
(Refrain) Love lifted me! Love lifted me! When nothing else could help Love lifted me! Souls in danger look above, Jesus completely saves, He will lift you by His love, out of the angry waves. He's the Master of the sea, billows His will obey, He your Saviour wants to be, saved today.
