                           "Fear not, O Land; be Glad and Rejoice

             For The Lord will do Great things"

                      [Joel 2:21.]

Has the Lord not done great things for you already? of course He has! have you counted your blessings lately? The following is a lovely reminder of His mercy toward you....

  • 1. Years I spent in vanity and pride,
    Caring not my Lord was crucified,
    Knowing not it was for me He died
    On Calvary.

Mercy there was great, and grace was free;
Pardon there was multiplied to me;
There my burdened soul found liberty,
At Calvary.

  • 2. By God's Word at last my sin I learned;
    Then I trembled at the law I'd spurned,
    Till my guilty soul imploring turned
    To Calvary.
  • 3. Now I've giv'n to Jesus everything,
    Now I gladly own Him as my King,
    Now my raptured soul can only sing
    Of Calvary.
  • 4. Oh, the love that drew salvation's plan!
    Oh, the grace that brought it down to man!
    Oh, the mighty gulf that God did span
    At Calvary!

Truly we can say with David  "Why art thou cast down O my soul, why art thou disquieted within me, Hope thou in God for I shall yet praise Him who is the health of my countenance and my God" [Psalm 42:11.]

Indeed there are many needs and battles we experience with our sin and weaknesses, but as job said  "Would He plead against me with His Great Power; No but He would put strength in me" [Job 23:6.] The Lord does remember that you are but dust [Psalm 103:14.] and seeks for us to so account that we are weak and needy just like dust, and can only ever make progress according to His all sufficient grace. Paul declares such when he said  "We have this treasure in an Earthen vessel that the Excellency of the Power may be of God and not of us" [2 Corinthians 4:7.]

The Lord had done great things for Job but there was a major obstruction to deeper and more "spiritual" blessing and so The Lord had much to do even to the point of using Satan even as he also did with Peter and in this process there can be many "strange" components of The Lord's reaches and yet dear brother and sister we must be encouraged even as Job was, for in the midst of his suffering, he was able to say with confidence  "He performeth the thing that is appointed for me and many such things are with Him" [Job 23:14.] and as Job said at another point  "He maketh my heart soft." [Job 23:16.] It is essential for us to have a soft heart toward The Lord and with such, the work of God in us can continue toward GREAT THINGS!

Be encouraged,  "The Gifts and calling of God are without repentance" [Romans 11:29.] The Lord says to you without any holding back  "I am The Lord I change NOT therefore ye  sons of Jacob are not consumed." [Malachi 3:6.]

Press on Joyfully to know The Lord more, as Job did and also Peter did, and experience by His Power, being brought into "Great" blessing (as promised in the above text) which The Lord made wonderfully real in both Job and Peter even though there was much for both of them to learn, as also it is with all of us.

Jesus Loves You.

 Make  Room for Him to "do" these great things in you and for you, The Lord bless you abundantly.
