The Prayer that is "Effectual".
The call of the Lord is for all us Christians, to "call on the Lord out of a pure heart" as in the following verse -
"Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart" [2 Timothy 2:22].
Sin and successful prayer don't go together.
How urgent is this matter of prayer, and what joy it is, when God answers our prayers; because prayer often contains the greatest burdens of human existence.
There are thousands of anxious matters that urges heart felt prayers.
The 2 things that are vital for "effectual" prayer, as indicated in ajacent coloumn under "main focus" are ....
..... 1). Being "Righteous".
2). Being "Fervent" in prayer.
The term "righteous man" (person) is not just the foundational "appropriated righteousness" by faith in Christ, which is every believers grace standing in the Lord.
But, it is the matter of being "right" with the Lord in spirit, soul and body.
Psalm 84:11 gives wonderful clarity for us in the matter of keeping ourselves in the love of God (Jude 21), and being right with him in every matter.
"For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly" [Psalm 84:11].
Fervency is the other matter that "availeth much" in prayer, and is a part component of the word "effectual". We need to not just mention as a matter of thoroughness, various prayer points; but be 'effected' genuinely, and 'moved' in heart about the needs and requests for blessing.
These 2 matters are clearly defined as a must for our prayers to be such that, "availeth much".
