The extremists who hate Australia Day
don’t understand the significance of
January 26 and what it means in its
entirety.
For example, Captain Cook didn’t
arrive in Sydney on January 26 as so
many of them mistakenly think. He
landed on April 28, 1770.
The First Fleet didn’t arrive at Botany
Bay on January 26. It anchored on
January 18, 1788.
And although it’s true that Governor
Arthur Phillip and his First Fleet sailed
into Port Jackson on the 26th for the
first time, there’s far more to the date
than just that.
For on the 26th of January 1949,
the Nationality and Citizenship Act
of 1948 came into effect, meaning
Australians, whether Indigenous
or non-Indigenous, were no longer
regarded as British subjects but
Australian citizens.
Not only did this mean Australians
became free citizens of an
independent country with their own
passports and national identity, but it
marked the beginning of reconciliation
between the native and settler
populations.
Soon after, Aboriginal Australians were
voting in Australian elections.
For instance, in 1971, the first
Aboriginal parliamentarian,
Queensland Liberal Senator Neville
Bonner was sworn into the Senate.

How good is that!
Australia Day wonderfully represents (since the 26th January 1949 the Nationality and citizenship act) the absolute legal and esteemed citizen equality of indigenous and non indigenous peoples of Australia.
What a valid reason to celebrate 'Australia Day' together on the 26th January - Aboriginal and every other true legal citizen of this great country, thankfully sharing together the mutual oneness and benefits of a united great Nation!at!

How has all this shift towards strife occured?
Why all of a sudden has Woolworths dampened enthusiasm towards the celebrations of 'Australia Day'?
Why has Aldi followed suit? and Coles intended to do the same, but a backlash changed their decision.
Why has the Albanese labour government not declared it's promotion of rejoicing over the awsome blessings afforded to Everyone in this great Nation and promoted 'Australia day' festivities?
