Psalm 2 continued ....

Verse 8.

Psalm 2:8. Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.

** Related Scripture: John 17.

1). Acts 11:26. Through the "glorious Gospel of Christ" the heathen are given to Christ; converted, and then become "Christians".

" ....... And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch" [Acts 11:26].

2). Philippians 1:21. Christians, by the powerful inspiration of the Holy Spirit become passionately Christ orientated - Paul joyfully proclaimed ... "For to me to live is Christ ..."

3). Mark 16:15. Thus, on the Basis of that promise of the Father in Psalm 2:8, Jesus gave the great commission to the church, including us to .... "Go into all the world and preach the Gospel"

4). Romans 8:17. All believers also share in this great inheritance and are declared to be .... "joint heirs with Christ". All true Christians in different degrees will share in the "fellowship of his sufferings" and thus share in his glory

5). 1 Corinthians 3:21-23. Christians inherit a fortune that cannot be calculated! " ...... All is yours ...."

6). Revelation 1:6, 5:10. Every believer is made a King and a priest unto God and as Kings we will reign with him (Jesus) upon the earth.

7). EXTRA - Daniel 7:18,22,27.

29-7-24.

Continuing Psalm 2:9-10.

1). Verse 9. Ref. Revelation 2:26-27. Jesus message to the Church that, those who overcome in Christ will share with the Lord his 'breaking' authority and power over the nations.

Discuss Romans 5:17, James 4:5-6 Grace needed to reign in life now and for equipping status in Eternity. Refer 2 Timothy 2:12. Check out the life of Joseph and his vision of reigning and how things went downhill for him in the process of being prepared and "perfected" by the Lord. Ref - Psalm 105:17-22, Psalm 138:8.

2). Revelation 11:15-18. is the 7th Trumpet declaration in Heaven of the 'takeover' details of the 'heathen kingdoms' of the World by our Lord Jesus Christ. The nations are predicted to be "Angry" which is now already developing. Refer 2 Timothy 3:1-7.

3). Verse 10. Proverbs 1:7, 2 Chronicles 1:11-13, 1 Kings 10:1-10, Matthew 12:42, 1 Corinthians 1:30. The terrible condition of despising wisdom and instruction. Solomon's wisdom was breathtaking! We can have daily greater wisdom than Solomon, because a greater than Solomon is here! The visiting queen to Solomon was also wise, as the instruction in verse 10 of Psalm 2.

5-8-24

Continuing with Psalm 2:9-10.

The following are only leading thoughts with much richness

that can be added. Be BLESSED!

1 Kings 10:4.

* "when the Queen of Sheba had seen"

~ She went to a lot of trouble to "see". Had to put aside a lot to "see". Some Christians hardly put aside 10 minutes to "see". The queen of Sheba put aside her whole Kingdom to travel in the dust for weeks to "see".

~ "...when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. The more we "see" the Lord Jesus in the Word the more "we are changed into the same image from glory to glory" [2 Corinthians 3:18]

1 Kings 10:5.

This one verse is a Gold Mine!

* "...the meat of his table"

~ "Meat" represents that which is substantial - Jesus called out to the diciples on the sea fishing all night - "children, have you any "meat"? Jesus then provided meat that blew them away! [John 21:3-11].

~ Paul said to the Hebrew Christians that they had become "such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat" and still had to be taught "the milk of the Word" and had not grown up past the baby stage.

~ Malnourishment means weakness, impaired function, lack of ability to live and get ahead in the happy basics of life. Likewise in the spiritual realm.

~ The grand display of "meat" on Solomon's table spelled out to the Queen of Sheba - prosperity; Which in Christ for us, is his rich blessing in every way.

~ Paul warned Christians about the "heart being established with Grace" and not with some "meats" that have not profited those that have been "occupied therein". [Hebrews 13:9]

~ Does a personal inventry show that what we are "occupied" with is real meat that profits us spiritually and is a blessing of the Lord to someone else?

* "The sitting of his servants".

~ Those servants of Solomon were blessed more than the wildest dreams of other servants serving other masters in Israel!

~ Every believer in Jesus is "seated in Heavenly places" in Christ and blessed with "ALL spiritual blessings".

[Ephesians 1:3,2:6]. What a 1st class seat in Heaven every Christian has!!

* "Attendance of his ministers"

~ The attendance of Solomons ministers was of the highest order. It doesn't get any higher than to be a minister of the wisest person in the then known world! And he has been superseded by Christ the "wisdom of God" that created all things including Solomon and his kingship in Israel [1 Corithians 1:30].

~ "Solomon exceeded all the kings of the earth for riches and for wisdom, and all the earth sought to Solomon, to hear his wisdom, which God had put in his heart." [1 Kings 10:23]

~ Likewise every believer in Jesus is in the same highest level of ministry because Jesus said ... "a greater than Solomon is here" [Matthew 12:42].

~ Do you put first, that you are a high honoured minister of the Lord Jesus Christ?

~ How far does being a servant of the Lord Jesus Christ exceed in glory than being a servant of pots and pans and painting the verandah or being the prime minister of Australia?

~ Paul said ... "And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ" [Colossians 3:23-24].
"Ye are bought with a price; be not ye the servants of men". [1Co 7:23].

* "and their apparel"

~ You are going to look spectacular!

~ The word "apparel" is translated "raiment" in Ezekiel 16:13 which is the Lord describing how he chose Israel and beautified her in a relationship with himself.

~ Eze 16:13 "Thus wast thou decked with gold and silver; and thy raiment was of fine linen, and silk, and broidered work; thou didst eat fine flour, and honey, and oil: and thou wast exceeding beautiful, and thou didst prosper into a kingdom".

~ Moses was instructed that Israel was to make garments for the priests of "glory and beauty" to "minister' unto him in the "priests office" [Exodus 28:2,41].

~ Paul spoke about the desire to be clothed upon from above (2 Corinthians 5:1-4) and in 1 Corinthians 15:41-43 this "apparel" of our resurrection bodies will be Glorious! Just like what the queen of Sheba saw with the adorning of Solomon's servants - they were Stunning! What glory awaits every saint of God!!

* "and his cupbearers"

~ The "cupbearers" had a special relationship to the king, because of the end result of their service of wine, was that of satisfaction and pleasure.

~ We thank the Lord so much for his promise to us, that "he satisfieth the longing soul" and yet how great it is that we can be those in whom is fulfilled "all the good pleasure of his goodness" as we Look to Him. [2 Thessalonans 1:11-12].

* "His assent by which he went up into the house of the Lord"

~ This scene for the queen of Sheba is much like John and the Vision of the glory of Christ on the Isle of Patmos. John saw the Lord in the midst of the "seven golden candlesticks" which is the Church, the saints and the "house of God".

~ When John saw such glory, "he fell at his feet as dead" much like the queen of Sheba who viewing the glory of Solomon, "there was no more spirit in her" [Revelation 1:17].

~ May we be so captured and captivated (like the queen of Sheba and John) as we behold the Glory of the Lord in his Word and also fall at his feet with praise and the same astonishment that we the Church, should have such a worthy glorious Saviour and Lord.

The Lord BLESS you in the Word.

The Lord BLESS his Word in our hearts, to be like a fire in our bones! [Jeremiah 20:9].
