Further Illustration of an OLD Condemnation and the NEW Way.
We are told this “certain man” had two sons.
When the younger son returned home broken and ruined by his sin and reckless life, the older son heard, (when he returned from working in the field) the rejoicing and music in the homestead. He enquired with the servants about the celabrations and was told of the younger brother’s return, of the father’s forgiveness and his restoration as a loved son in the family.
The older brother was angry and refused to go in and join in the celebrations; the Father came out and sought to console him that it was meet to receive the broken son and to be glad and rejoice that his brother was “dead and is alive again, was lost and is found,” but he heaped disgust and condemnation upon his younger brother instead of forgiveness and happily receiving him home.
The older brother represents the Old Dispensation (Old Testament) of the rigorous law and judgment to condemnation.
Was the older brother thinking with selfrightous resentment, that his father should issue the command for an “honour killing”? Kill, instead of love and forgive the younger brother, who has returned home with sorrow for his error?
Now is the Time for all Muslims.
It is time for all Muslims to walk away from the incomplete, barren and blood stained overbloated practices of the Old Era, and seek to understand the Heaven sent, love and life filled hope of the New Era.
