Home Written in a Book.

T. Austin Sparks - Messages.

 "Then they that Feared The Lord spake often One to another: and The Lord Hearkened, And heard it, and a book of remembrance  was written before Him for them that feared The Lord, and that thought upon His Name" [Malachi 3:16.]

"Thought upon his name"

The Psalmist said  "My meditation of Him shall be sweet; I will be glad in The Lord" [Psalm 104:34.]

Indeed meditation of Him shall be sweet as we think upon His Name because the great announcement of the angel to Mary was  "Thou shalt call His Name Jesus, for He shall save His people from their sins" [Matthew 1:21.]

Isaiah the Prophet said it well, "Therefore with Joy shall ye draw water out of The Wells of Salvation"  [Isaiah 12:3.]

How precious the thought of His Name, as it is written  "Wherefore God also hath Highly exalted Him and given Him a name which is above every name: That at The Name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in Earth, and things under the Earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the Glory of God The Father" [Philippians 2:9-10.]

 "Neither is there salvation in any other for there is none other name under Heaven, given among men whereby we must be saved" [Acts 4:12.]

"Spake often one to another"

How can you not speak and share such preciousness, when you consider such greatness of blessing that belongs to those who have come to The Lord; Some of this preciousness blessing to share is found in the following Hymn.

How sweet the Name of Jesus sounds
In a believer's ear!
It soothes his sorrows, heals his wounds,
And drives away his fear.

It makes the wounded spirit whole,
And calms the troubled breast;
'Tis manna to the hungry soul,
And to the weary, rest.

Dear Name, the Rock on which I build,
My Shield and Hiding Place,
My never failing treasury, filled
With boundless stores of grace!

By Thee my prayers acceptance gain,
Although with sin defiled;
Satan accuses me in vain,
And I am owned a child.

Jesus! my Shepherd, Husband, Friend,
O Prophet, Priest and King,
My Lord, my Life, my Way, my End,
Accept the praise I bring.

Weak is the effort of my heart,
And cold my warmest thought;
But when I see Thee as Thou art,
I'll praise Thee as I ought.

Till then I would Thy love proclaim
With every fleeting breath,
And may the music of Thy Name
Refresh my soul in death!

David said  "Bless The Lord O my soul and all that is within me, bless His Holy Name and forget not all His benefits." [Psalm 103:2.]

How glad a Christian is! What great things there are to "speak often, one to another" about!

"A Book of remembrance was written before Him"

Every time we share The Lord, He hearkens and makes a special note of it! Of course  that is only as such sharing comes from a love and heart filled joy and rejoicing of "thought upon His name", Any sharing out of legalism, or "duty" or works of self righteousness, will not be written in any book; and how clearly Paul illustrates this in his words ...  "Though I speak with the tongues of men and angels, and have not love, I am become a sounding brass and a tinkling cymbal .... it profiteth me nothing" [1 Corinthians 13:1-3.]

The Lord bless you much as you think upon His Name, and then finding in this "sweet meditation" , such rest and joy, so as to be able to "speak  often"  to others of The Goodness of the Lord and He "will hearken" and it will be "written in a book".

Jesus Loves You

God Bless
